Early October found Seating Dynamics at the Alpine Rehab Conference in Salt Lake City. A packed house joined us for Muscle Tone, Tone Management, and Dynamic Seating Intervention. It was great to do a deep dive into the etiology and pathophysiology of muscle tone, primitive reflexes/obligatory responses, and movement disorders. We then discussed current tone management strategies and how these medical interventions impact wheelchair seating. General seating strategies for clients with increased muscle tone, including Dynamic Seating, were then reviewed with great comments and questions from the participants.
