The optimal level of resistance is critical to the functioning of a Dynamic Back. In this Quick Class, we will review how to determine if the resistance is too firm, too soft, or just right.

The Lock Out feature prevents neck and head movement when needed. Clinical scenarios include when feeding, transporting or any other task requiring stability.
The Sub-Occipital Pad Adaptor is compatible with several Sub-Occipital pads. These pads provide additional support at the posterior base of the skull and reduce neck hyperextension.
The Seating Dynamics Static Head Support is designed to replace standard head support hardware with highly adjustable and durable hardware that positions head pads precisely where needed without loss of alignment.

The Single Axis version moves posteriorly in response to client forces.
The Multi Axis version captures both posterior and rotational movement.
Elastomers allow for an increase or decrease in resistance to ensure head movement and return to neutral are optimal. The head support hardware comes standard with blue (medium) elastomers. If more resistance is needed, green (firm) elastomers are provided with the unit.
The Seating Dynamics’ Dynamic Head Support Hardware allows neck extension, diffusing and absorbing force to protect the client, protect the hardware, and reduce overall extensor tone. The Single Axis version moves posteriorly and the Multi Axis version captures both posterior and rotational movement.
