Inhibiting Max’s Strong Neck Extension with Dynamic Head Support Hardware

Inhibiting Max’s Strong Neck Extension with Dynamic Head Support Hardware

Max is an adult with cerebral palsy and significant extensor tone. His Baclofen pump was recently removed secondary to an infection. This has led to strong neck hyperextension and rotation. Although Max can sometimes bring his head back to a neutral position, his current head support is unable to maintain this head position. The Seating Dynamics Dynamic Head Support Hardware was trialed with Max. Although he continues to posture in neck hyperextension and rotation, his neck muscles are much more relaxed, facilitating his return to neutral and improving comfort and tolerance. We ordered this hardware, along with the head pads which work best for Max and look forward to delivery! Max also uses dynamic footrests.
