The RESNA Position on the Application of Dynamic Seating was approved in November of 2020. The purpose of this document is to share typical clinical applications as well as provide evidence from the literature supporting the application of dynamic seating to assist practitioners in decision-making and justification.
Seating Dynamics offers optional quick-release removable mounting hardware so that the head support can be easily removed for transfers, folding of equipment, and more.
The Lateral Swing-Away Adapter is compatible with Stealth Products’ Swing-Away hardware. This swing-away hardware supports pads for postural support at the side of the head. The hardware can also be used to mount switches by the side of the head.
The Sub-Occipital Pad Adaptor is compatible with several Sub-Occipital pads. These pads provide additional support at the posterior base of the skull and reduce neck hyperextension.
The Seating Dynamics Static Head Support is designed to replace standard head support hardware with highly adjustable and durable hardware that positions head pads precisely where needed without loss of alignment.
The Single Axis version moves posteriorly in response to client forces.
The Multi Axis version captures both posterior and rotational movement.
The Seating Dynamics’ Dynamic Head Support Hardware allows neck extension, diffusing and absorbing force to protect the client, protect the hardware, and reduce overall extensor tone. The Single Axis version moves posteriorly and the Multi Axis version captures both posterior and rotational movement.
